One of the things that I love about the entire Internet is that it is always changing. I love it when I go to one of my favorite websites and they change how it looks – it is like going into a store that has been recently renovated. Sure, some of the changes I have seen over the years haven’t been great, but for the most part, when a website is re-designed, it is an improvement.
I have been toying with the idea of changing this site to being something a little different. I always envisioned that it would be a lot more colorful and inviting and maybe have a logo up in the top left hand corner. But I have always been too busy to make any changes, so I have just let things slide.
After discovering a free logo design tool last week, my interest has been renewed in taking a serious look at changing our website. It isn’t something that I am going to do overnight by any means, but rather something that I am going to play with, test, and then publish.
I have setup a mock site so that I can try out the designs before they make it to this production site and the testing has been going smoothly. But I don’t have everything quite the way that I like, so there will be a few more days of testing, tweaking, and changing before everything is ready to go.
Hopefully I will be able to rollout the new site design soon – it is about time this site had a facelift.
